While Notre Dame may have fallen from the AP Top 25 after beginning the year within the top five, this is still one of the marquee games to keep an eye on this weekend. Notre Dame had a week off to try to regroup after a shaky start to the season. The Fighting Irish needed 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to come from behind against Cal, but found some offensive momentum in a win over North Carolina. BYU has a quality win over Baylor , but allowed a combined 50 points in inconsistent performances against Wyoming and Utah State.

BYU and Notre Dame have played eight times in history, with every matchup coming since The Fighting Irish hold a all-time advantage, including a win over the Cougars in behind yards passing from now-offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.
